During research and development for a digital 3D microscope solution, we invented an unique hologram recording method with material that allows us to design and create an extremely compact digital holography. Thanks to this invention, we embarked on a new path to develop a 3D fingerprinting solution based on digital holography. The 3D fingerprinting solution will not only provide the best 3D fingerprint patterns and surface curvature of true finger prints, but will also process other types of biometrics information. Because human finger and biometric information are dynamic in time-sequence of 3D measurements, we call it the 4D fingerprint scanning. Acquiring these two unique biometrics completely protects spoofing by a paper print or artificial fingerprints made from a 3D printer using gelatin or silicone. It detects presentation attacks at all times.

Digital holography is one of the most powerful non-contact surface capturing methods in 3D with the highest degree of accuracy and speed, even when applied to subjects in motion or in harsh environments with vibration, heat, cold temperatures and moisture. Our technology allows users to unlock and gain access by locating their finger near the fingerprint scanner without actually touching it. This is the safest and easiest accessing tool among various types of biometric access techniques such as 2D fingerprint scanning, 3D facial detection and iris scanning.

Applications for our 4D fingerprinting solution include:

  • Vehicles (door lock, engine initiation and lock)

  • Flying drones (door lock, engine initiation)

  • Door lock for infrastructure (apartments, houses, storage, safes, offices, etc.)

  • Data centers, labs, power stations, hospitals, government buildings, military and defence, etc.

  • Automatic teller machines, etc.
